Joyce Allen and Barbara Kenyon (broadcast 6-10-2013) teach Audrey and Paul some of the basics of story writing and poetry writing. Joyce is the author of three novels, most recently Book One of a young adult fantasy novel, “Those Who Hold the Threads” and a mainstream adult novel, “Hannah’s House”.  Barbara is Poet Laureate of Hillsborough for 2012-2013 and her most recent publications have been in the journal “The Sow’s Ear” and the Old Mountain Press anthology, “Carrboro Poetica”.

Listen into the fun as Joyce uses techniques from Priming the Pump, her Carrboro Arts Center class and Barbara does the same from Tools for Poetry, her Carrboro Arts Center class, to stir up some creativity with the hosts of Carolina Book Beat.  Find out more about writing classes at www.artscenterlive.org
